Video from the ROV

The video collected from the ROV is transmitted via a cable from the instrument to the wet lab on the ship. There are a couple monitors, computers and recording devices to make sure that all of the data is being collected.

This first video is of the ROV video being collected, as well as of the operator of the ROV. There are controls and knobs that are used to drive the ROV just like a remote control car! Except you cannot really see where you are going. But if you look at the screen to the left you can see the shape of the ship and then the little picture of the ROV. That helps to see where the ROV is headed!

The the next few videos some of the cool things we saw while the ROV was diving a shipwreck of a tug boat. On this expedition the Multi-Beam sonar found five shipwrecks that have not been previously charted! So exciting! Be sure to watch the entire videos. You never know what you might see......look to the upper left on the third video.
