Afternoon On the Green

Tim and I volunteered last weekend at a local event on the golf course of UVI called Afternoon on the Green. UVI had a booth set up with a bunch of information and instruments for people to learn more about what we do in Marine Science and the Center for Marine and Environmental Studies. We also had a survey for people to fill out that asked a bunch of questions about coral reefs because one of the researchers here is doing a lot of outreach work to get the community more involved in cleaning up the island and making sure they know how important the ocean and the coral community is to everyone! There was also a bunch of homemade food where you could buy mini tastes to try a bunch of different things! Everything was great and Tim finally got to try a local dish called Salt Fish.
