It was a Saturday afternoon and V and I had just come home from doing some shopping. When you make the right onto our road - let's call it a road for this posting - it's like you've just been transported to a safari in the Serengeti. It's a steep drive into the jungle.
Anyway, throw a couple of tractors and a dump truck into the mix and things get tight. So, being the courteous person I am, I decided to remove my vehicle from the road and back down a steep, dirt drive which hasn't been used in who knows how long. Long story short, I soon found out just how steep it was as my brakes locked up and Jeep skidded out of control down onto Vincent' (a local) property.
How did I stop myself from going over the edge and falling into 600 feet of jungle to my doom? I'll give you one guess...it's a tree and it grows mangoes!
Aside from a crushed top, a broken back window and a hatch that won't open...everything is great. Hahahaha. It could have been worse. Those words graced my mind 500 times that night as I was sitting on our deck staring at the stars.
Maybe I'm part cat and have 8 more lives?
Welcome to the Virgin Islands!
